Counselling &
Psychotherapy
A structured, evidence-informed space to understand your inner world and shift the patterns shaping how you feel, relate, and respond.
Psychotherapy is a structured, evidence-informed approach to understanding yourself more deeply and creating real change in how you feel, think, and relate to others. At Farmer & Co., our psychotherapist is a masters-trained, PACFA-accredited allied health professional who brings both clinical rigour and genuine warmth to her work.
Psychotherapy supports people of all ages navigating a wide range of experiences, including:
- Anxiety, panic, and emotional overwhelm
- Depression, grief, and loss
- Trauma and unresolved past experiences
- Behavioural challenges, withdrawal, or impulsivity
- School refusal and demand avoidance
- Relationship and family conflict
- Identity questions and loss of direction
We also have experience supporting people with intellectual and profound disabilities, adapting communication, pacing, and activities to meet individual needs.
Our approach is grounded in humanistic principles — we centre your lived experience, strengths, and capacity for growth. In practice, this might look like exploring your story through conversation, working with the body's responses, using creative expression, or gently examining the different parts of yourself that show up in different situations.
We draw on narrative therapy, somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and expressive arts therapy — always following your lead and tailoring the work to what feels right for you.
The goal isn't only insight — but lasting shifts in mood, behaviour, relationships, and overall wellbeing.
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to understand yourself a little better, psychotherapy might be a good fit. We'd love to have a conversation if you're not sure where to start.
We know that the relationship between you and your therapist matters just as much as the approach itself. That\'s why our psychotherapist offers a free 20-minute phone or video conversation so you can get a feel for each other before committing to a session. No pressure, no obligation — just a chance to ask questions and see if it feels like a good fit.
