Leo Coolhaas

Leo is a Mental Health Endorsed Occupational Therapist with more than 40 years of experience supporting people across a wide range of mental health settings. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Therapy, bringing together evidence-based practice with a compassionate, relationship-focused approach.

Throughout her career, Leo has been committed not only to supporting individuals but also to promoting mental wellbeing within the broader community. She has worked as a Mental Health First Aid and Suicide First Aid trainer and is currently involved in developing preventative mental health promotion programs.

Leo has a particular interest in working with young people and their families. She is trained in family-focused practice and the Tuning in to Teens program, supporting families to strengthen communication, emotional understanding, and relationships.

At the heart of Leo’s work is a warm, genuine, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. She believes that meaningful change happens when people feel heard, respected, and understood. Drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches, she tailors her work to each person’s unique needs and provides Focused Psychological Strategies for clients referred by their GP under a Mental Health Treatment Plan.

Leo enjoys working with adolescents and adults experiencing a broad range of mental health concerns. She is known for her compassionate, non-judgemental approach and is committed to creating a safe space where people can explore challenges, build resilience, and move towards a more fulfilling life.
